About This Spot

Walking into La Bella Marketplace is like stepping into a vibrant corner of Italy nestled in the heart of Staten Island. The air carries the faint, inviting scent of fresh mozzarella and cured meats, mingling with the possibility of familiar Mediterranean treats and treasures just waiting to be discovered. It’s a place where the rush of the outside world softens, making space for a slower pace focused on genuine, sensory experience.

This isn’t just a supermarket; it feels more like a well-tended neighborhood gathering spot where the aisles burst with colorful imports and soulful staples that inspire both everyday meals and special occasions. Browsing here invites quiet exploration—pasta shapes with unexpected names, jars filled with golden olive oils, and rows of delicately crafted candies draw curious hands and smiles alike.

The atmosphere hums with the affection of a community space designed for discovery more than convenience. Ample parking around the store hints at a thoughtful ease for visitors, encouraging lingering and leisurely selection. Inside, there’s a warm rhythm to the flow—customers chatting quietly with staff who clearly know their wares, children marveling at the sight of exotic sweets, and locals who’ve found their go-to for the freshest seafood and the finest cheeses.

La Bella’s charm lies in those small human moments: sharing recommendations for a great olive oil or the right pasta for Sunday supper, or exchanging tips on new arrivals from across the Atlantic. It’s a marketplace that feels lived-in and lovingly stocked, reflecting a deep-rooted connection to Italian culinary culture while welcoming anyone eager to experience its delights firsthand.

Great selection, maybe the best on the island, for Italian and Mediterranean specialties. Large selection of imported meats and cheeses. All types of imported candies and food stuffs. Needs easily accessible WiFi for customers, no cel service. Needs better selection of Whole Bean Italian coffees.

Great store. Huge parking lot and an excellent selection. They have really nice sales and a great website to boot so you can plan ahead. The kid who checked me out got me set up with their store member card. Nice shopping experience. I’ll be back

Nice selection of imported Italian goods, way more than I was expecting and not too overpriced. Tons of pasta, olive oil, a nice selection of Italian grocery staples, canned goods and candies. They also have imported cleaning items, that was a surprise!

Anyone who has visited Labella’s nose knows it's like a giant candy store for adults, offering everything needed for a great Italian meal.

So many authentic Italian items to choose from. The deli is delicious and great for quick pick-ups. Produce is very fresh too. I like that there is a good selection of no-sugar-added pies in the bakery area.
